Heidi Woody is the owner and founder of Obsidian Skin Spa — and her story is one of purpose, perseverance, and deep care for the people she serves. From childhood, she gravitated naturally toward nurturing others, and nursing never felt like a career choice so much as a reflection of who she was.
After earning both her nursing degree and her master’s degree from Saginaw Valley State University on a full academic scholarship and graduating with honors, Heidi built her clinical foundation in the Neurotrauma ICU before going on to practice as a board-certified nurse practitioner. Her background spans critical care, trauma surgery, emergency medicine, and orthopedics — experiences that shaped not only her clinical skills but her entire philosophy of care.
Obsidian was never part of a master plan. Following a traumatic event that ended her hospital career, Heidi found herself searching for purpose again. She turned to aesthetics — something she had always personally loved — and what began as a quiet pivot became something far greater. Grounded in her faith, the trust she had built in the community as a nurse practitioner, and the unwavering support of family and friends, she built Obsidian into the practice it is today.

Heidi has always wanted Obsidian to feel welcoming and approachable to everyone — whether someone is deeply invested in aesthetics or a busy mom who finally decided to do something for herself.
Consultations at Obsidian are always complimentary, because she never wants patients to feel pressured. Even if someone never proceeds with treatment, she considers the consultation a success if they leave feeling more informed and confident than when they arrived.
OUTSIDE THE SPA
Family is at the center of everything Heidi does. She has three children, and much of life outside the spa revolves around sports, family time, and making memories together.
She also loves gardening, camping, photography, coffee, sunrises, and spending time outdoors. Those who know her well know she has a deep love for people, community, and the simple, meaningful moments in between.

Heidi is passionate about the intersection of aesthetics and genuine wellness — helping patients look their best while also feeling their best. She has completed extensive training in aesthetic medicine, injectables, lasers, regenerative medicine, and advanced procedures, and has trained with some of the most respected educators in the country.
Above all, she loves empowering women. Whether that’s through a treatment, a conversation, or simply helping someone feel seen and heard, her greatest reward has always been the relationships she builds with her patients along the way.
